Jungfrau, Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, INTERLAKEN

We are only here for one night so we made sure we caught the earliest train. There was no reading or playing cards on this train as we were again awe struck by the stunning scenery. Switzerland has much to be proud of!

We walked from Interlaken, along the river and through the bush to Lake Thun. Jungfrau as your backdrop isn’t too bad really! Off the beaten track, we found old ruins of a castle that dates back to 1219. First castle we haven’t had to pay for! Shaun was ready for a swim by this stage, as walking in 30plus degree heat definitely works up a sweat, yet once we were there and had dipped our feet in, there was no way of going any further. Freezing icy water straight off Jungfrau I’m sure! While sitting at the waters edge, in a secluded spot, I wrote a letter and put it in a bottle. I’ve always wanted to do this!

It would be rude to leave Switzerland without having a fondue. Best dinner ordering award goes to Shaun for his cheese fondue. Devine!!!
